This is my Alaskan album. I took a lot of pictures in the Denali National Park, but only included a few of my favorites. The rest were taken in the Kenai Fjords National Park. The thing about Alaska is that the nature just takes you away from everything else and you get a feeling of freshness and happiness that modern just cannot give you. I was able to experience this, and I want you guys to be able to feel it as well. The pictures were all taken in August, so the sun was still out till 9:00 on most days while I was there.
This bull moose came out on the road for quite an adventure on my way out of the park, and I was able to capture a couple incredible shots of him. He stuck around for a while, but too many people began to surround him so he went back to eating his leaves.

Brown bears were relatively rare to find during our trip, but we were lucky enough to see this one sneaking around in the greenery. He was distracted by another tour bus while we stuck around to his side and took all the pictures we could.
Although it looks like a prairie dog, this furry critter is actually an Alaskan Ground Squirrel. He seemed a little too photogenic and stuck around as I snuck in a few shots from a distance. Eventually, a car scared him away.
Welcome to the tallest mountain in the United States of America, Mt. McKinley. Mt. McKinley was only visible for a short period of time before the clouds rolled in and covered the rest of the peak. As one tour guide told me, visitors have a better probability of making it to the top of the mountain than of seeing the top of the mountain from the ground. Maybe I should try climbing it next!
In the Kenai Fjords National Park, I saw this incredibly playful Dalls Porpoise riding the waves of our boat. He and a couple of his mates were looking to ride the waves that our boat created and in return, allowed the tourists to take pictures of them.
Seals are wonderfully playful creatures, and this one joined the Alaskan Squirrel in the books of extremely photogenic animals. The seals were about 200 to 300 feet away, and they were in the shade. I used my 650mm telephoto lens to take the picture, but the high ISO setting made it a little noisy.
The bald eagle, America's national animal was sighted flying over the trees in the Kenai Fjords National Park. If you look closely, you can see the eagle caught some prey, but the shot was too fast to see what animal it caught. Unfortunately, the bird was moving too fast for me to properly capture its magnificence in flight. This was pretty much the best shot I got.
